What started as a small, one man and his tools kind of workshop has grown to be one of Australia's leading restoration businesses. Hills and Co Customs readily admit to having an identity crisis - classic car restorers or custom car builders?
Owner, Justin "Jockey" Hills is not a man to do things by halves. With a passion for many, many different cars he struggles to fit the 'mould' for any one car fraternity and chooses instead to bring his expert skills and knowledge to those as passionate as he for their own take on what is beautiful.
After assembling the right team of professional tradesmen, Justin has managed to restore cars for the most conservative of classic owners and build some of Australia's top customs.
A panel beater and spray painter by trade, Justin's experience in England restoring some of the countries most collectable marques including Aston Martin and Lagonda set him up for a true appreciation for the preservation of old vehicles. However, as a greasy rockabilly Justin found himself regularly attending hot rod and custom shows throughout the UK in the early 90's and driving head turning leadsleds in the snow.
Influenced by the US custom car gurus of the 1950's including George Barris, Justin's own custom '49 Buick is a sleek and simple custom that can be appreciated by all.
